Internet Privacy Analysis Questions

This week in my Theory and Audience Analysis course, we are discussing the issue of privacy on the world wide web. I hope to gain more insight into the topic. Here are some questions I wish to analyze.

1) How do social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook protect my privacy?
2) Because social media websites are so capitalistic, will any information posted on the web ever be private?
3) If social media users information became more private, could it still be considered a social network? If people can’t find you about become your friend, wouldn’t you miss out on the social part of the social network?
